Weekly Question #1

Well, we are entering week 6 of training and the long runs are getting longer.  Jenny and I have discussed that our running music is starting to get a little redundant.

Please help us build our play lists by sharing your favorite song(s) to listen to while you work out, clean the house, drive really fast, or dance in front of your mirror behind closed doors.  Thanks for helping to put an extra pep in our step!!

  1. My favorite music to run/work out to is definitely Hip Hop so I would say these are must-haves for your playlists:
    -"Boom Boom Pow"-Black Eyed Peas
    -"Beautiful"-Akon
    -"Closer"-Ne-Yo
    -"In The Ayer"-Flo-Rida

    Happy Running!

  2. Go Lynn and Jenny! Some of my go-to songs when I was training for the 10k (I know, not quite same) were:

    - "Right Here Right Now" by Fatboy Slim
    - "Lost+" by Coldplay
    - "Single Ladies" by Beyonce
    - "That's Not My Name" by The Ting Tings

Let me know what works for you because I need to start running again and could use some good tunes to get me going.

  3. Well, of course, the Rocky Theme would be good for a little spring in your step...followed immediately by Eye of the Tiger, and then you'll want to download anything that was previously released on a "Jock Jams" cd...that should help. But, if those don't work, we like Sandstorm (Darude), Takin' Back my Love (Enrique Iglesias), Great DJ (the Ting Tings), A-Punk (Vampire Weekend)...I'll be running mile for mile with you guys...:) just kidding! Have fun!

  4. You girls are awesome!! (or maybe just crazy... I dunno.) I was going to say Boom Boom Pow as well. And this is an older one but I always liked running to Harder to Breathe by Maroon 5. Run like the wind - I'm proud of you!!

  5. Keep On Keepin On (Jack Ingram's live version) helped both my sister and I make it through the last marathon we ran together.

  7. Wow! You guys are awesome! I love all of the suggestions so far but would definitely include BRITNEY! Duh-I love her. But, another fav is These Are the Days by 10,000 Maniacs. It is one of my favs to remind me how great we all have it and to have each other and do the things we get to do-like run marathons! :)

    Yay good luck!
